The project ‘SURE! Nordic Built for Sustainable Retrofitting’ uses creative methods when developing a ground-breaking visualisation design aimed at motivating people to become more energy efficient. Interactive Institute Swedish ICT is leading the creative process, and the solution(s) will be tested in the Nordic housing associations that are part of the project, to see how much it will encourage tenants to improve their energy behaviour.
The purpose of the SURE! project is to optimise energy usage and strengthen sustainable lifestyles for residents in areas that need retrofitting. In order to do so, the project has implemented technical solutions to optimise the heat consumption in Swedish and Danish housing associations. Now, the next step is to implement a solution that visualises the energy consumption to the tenants – a solution that not only makes people aware of their own energy behaviour, but also motivates people to change their behaviour towards a more efficient energy use.
The creative team from Interactive Institute Swedish ICT is quite far in the idea phase, and based on research, experience and valuable input from the user involvement that has already been carried out in the project, they are getting ready to settle on the idea(s) that will be prototyped and tested in the project – and hopefully set new standards for motivating and promoting sustainable behaviour. In the video, you can learn more about the creative work process and the thoughts behind the visualisation design.
